Low Temperature Chillers – As a leading process cooling specialist, Aqua Group can supply a range of chiller units for low temperature applications, down to -40°C.
Our low temperature units are designed and built to your specific requirements, incorporating the very latest chiller technology and refrigerant know how. With the changes in EU legislation surrounding hydrofluorocarbon (HFC), or greenhouse gases, refrigerants such as R-404A will be obsolete by 2020. In January 2020 any refrigerant with a GWP of over 2500 will be banned.

Low Temp Chillers Are Just The Tonic For Gin Distillery
Launched in 2009, Bacardi owned Oxley Gin is widely recognised as pioneering the cold vacuum distillation technique. Historically, production at their distillery in Hampshire, was done by hand, one litre at a time. Due to increased product demand, Bacardi tasked a consultant to oversee the upscaling of their production facility. Aqua were called in during the initial design phase and took on responsibility for the complete design of the temperature control distillery cooling system required. The cold vacuum distillation process is also referred to as a sub-zero process. Essentially, botanicals are cooled to -5°C with ethanol. The distillation process pulls a vacuum to distil the gin from an initial tank. Due to it being under vacuum, to condense the gin back to liquid, Aqua supplied a specialist condenser serviced by a-30°C glycol system. It is then re-heated to over 0°C and moved to the next stage in the process which is blending… Read More
Low Temperature Chillers With Low GWP Refrigerants
Aqua can offer a range of alternative low GWP refrigerants. For low temperature chiller installations, that comply with the F-Gas Regulations implemented in 2015. Equally, if your existing equipment currently operates on R404a, our engineers can retrofit a different, lower GWP, refrigerant to it. Our Service team are already helping customers fit retrofit solutions to legacy equipment. The price of R404a refrigerant increasing all the time, they face huge should a leak occur and the system needs recharging with refrigerant.
Preventive Maintenance Plans
Our Service team also offers a range of preventive maintenance plans. Ensuring your low temperature equipment is kept running to optimum efficiency. All our engineers are F-Gas trained. As well as fully conversant with the evolving refrigeration legislation.
Our low temperature chiller units have cooling capacities from just a few kW to MW+. We’ve worked with a number of high-profile clients on low temperature projects, from low temperature distillation for the beverage sector to test chamber environments and chemical applications.
