Air Cooled Chillers – Industrial air-cooled chillers are essentially used to cool a process fluid. The chiller unit takes the heat from the process water and discharges it into the air. In some scenarios the warm air that’s discharged can be reclaimed and utilised for comfort heating during colder months, cutting winter fuel costs quite dramatically.
Air cooled and water-cooled chillers have the same key components – an evaporator, compressor, condenser and expansion valve. The main operating difference is that one discharges heat energy into the air (air cooled), the other discharges heat into water (water cooled).

Our range of air cooled chillers have efficiency and reliability at their heart. As well as being highly energy efficient, they also come with reduced maintenance costs. Below is an overview of our main chiller models, all of which can be configured for harsh environments, including options for aggressive or marine conditions, as well as low noise and reduced vibration options.
Air Cooled Chiller Units
ENR Chillers – for outdoor installation, with cooling capacities from 1.6kW to 410kW. The units feature hermetic orbiting scroll compressors (from model 008) and either self-cleaning coaxial evaporators (models 003-100) or shell & tube. The range incorporates axial fans and a condenser with copper tubes and aluminium finned core. From model 061 the chillers run two compressors in parallel, further enhancing efficiency. From model 130 the chillers run two refrigeration circuits in parallel, and multiple compressors delivering continuous running.
ENRF Chillers – with integrated free cooling, cooling capacities from 23.4kW to 355kW. These chillers use the cooler ambient outdoor air as a free cooling source, resulting in either partial or total free cooling (dependent on ambient temperatures). The benefit of free cooling is significantly reduced operating costs, improved energy efficiency and less reliance on mechanical moving parts which then extends the lifespan of the equipment.
CSE Chillers – this range is designed for indoor installations, with cooling capacities from 30kW to 377kW, and incorporating centrifugal fans. These units are ideal for scenarios where the discharged warm air can be recycled and used as heating.
SBS Chillers – for installing outside, cooling capacities from 95kW to 1230kW. The units feature hermetic orbiting scroll compressors, axial fans, finned coil condensers and either brazed plate or shell & tube evaporators.
SBSF Chillers – with integrated free cooling, cooling capacities from 94kW to 1033kW. We also offer an optimised free cooling range – SBSF-OPT – which features a very low free cooling approach between leaving water temperature (LWT) and ambient temperature.
Depending on the working load and water temperature, we can also offer air cooled screw chillers (NOVA) and inverter driven screw chillers (ISV), with or without integrated free cooling.
