Air Conditioning Chillers – Aqua Group have a range of chiller units especially suited to air conditioning applications.
There are two main types of centralised air conditioning systems – either direct expansion, commonly referred to as a DX system or a chilled water variant. With the latter, the chiller’s refrigeration system chills the water which is then used to cool the air. With a DX configuration, the air which is used for cooling the ambient air is passed directly over the cooling coil of the refrigeration equipment, normally air handlers.

Our business is built on our core values of technical excellence, care, integrity and a “can do” attitude. We train all our people to be specialists in what they do – innovative engineers dedicated to providing practical, effective and efficient solutions supported by second-to-none customer service.
The key advantage to a chilled water system is that it uses less refrigerant. With DX air conditioning the refrigeration has to run through pipework around the building or facility and through the individual DX coils. When using a chiller, the refrigerant level needed is minimised, as it’s retained within the chiller itself. The negative impact refrigerants have on the environment are well documented. In addition, refrigerants are costly not just to purchase initially but for maintenance purposes over time too. With a chiller system ongoing costs are reduced, as is the size of your businesses’ carbon footprint.
Air Conditioning CFT Chillers
Aqua’s range of CFT chillers are air cooled units specifically designed with the air conditioning unit and HVAC market in mind. With capacities from 8kW – 440kW, they have a scroll compressor, brazed plate evaporator, axial fans and a thermostatic expansion valve. They are ideal for a system using air as a buffer, other advantages are a closed, non-ferrous system and don’t require a high pressure to run.
In addition, we also have a Temperature Control Hire division, so if you’re looking for a temporary short term or emergency air conditioning solution, our engineers can assist with that too.
